（1）植被生态：植被分布格局及动态变化。
（2）群落生态：植物群落构建机制及生物多样性保护。
2.可持续生态学
（1）理论研究：自然资本评估；区域复合生态系统可持续性评价及系统代谢；家庭固废循环回收体系。
（2）社会服务：青岛国家森林生态系统定位观测；黄河国家战略（黄河流域生态保护）；生态环境损害司法鉴定；国家自然保护地建设与调整论证。
